Robert Backiel III - President
Robert Backiel III is President & CEO of EnerQuest Corporation.
Robert is focused on leading EnerQuest Corporation into its third decade of operations and beyond through development of its existing asset base, new acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
Robert is a member of the ADAM Energy Forum in Dallas and is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a B.S. Finance.
Laurie Coghlan - Land, Legal & Compliance Director
Laurie is Director of Land, Legal & Compliance at EnerQuest Corporation. Laurie is responsible for the oversight of all Legal, Compliance and Land matters at EnerQuest.
Laurie has over two decades of experience in the energy industry with roles of increasing responsibility at both public and private energy companies.
Laurie was previously Land Support Manager in the ETX Land Group, and a Senior Land Technician at EXCO Resources, Inc. where she performed detailed analysis, preparation, and review of leases, JOA's, farm-outs, sales contracts, and title opinions. Laurie also assisted in the due diligence of various acquisitions and was responsible for research of third-party ownership, and preparation of election letters to partners for workovers and recompletions. As Land Support Manager Laurie provided management and oversight of Land Techs providing support to the various Landmen in the ETX Land Group.
Laurie started her career at the Law Firm of Lee Caldwell, Attorney at Law where she was a Legal Assistant. The Firm handled all the Oil & Gas Leasing for Hardin Simmons University. She then worked for Conquest Energy where she held various positions in accounting, land and regulatory. In 2003 she went to work as a Legal Assistant for Baker & McKenzie Law Firm in Washington, DC, where she provided support to two attorneys, and eventually to work for Cole Halliburton, Attorney at Law in Dallas, before moving on to Exco Resources.
Laurie enjoys spending her free time playing tennis, watching movies, reading and spending time with her family and her 2 dogs.
